I Heart You Hat

A free Knitting Pattern

Somehow it is already February, and Valentine's Day is right around the corner. I have a cute little hat to share with you today. It works the left and right twists to form layered hearts. I love the texture of this hat. The ribbing really adds some stretch and dimension to the design. It has been a while since I have shared a twisted stitch pattern. I'm so glad to have another one to share.

Today marks the day of  Designs by Diligence being around for 8 years. This coming year I'm going to hit 1,000,000 page views. Never would I have thought my little blog would hit that milestone. From a girl that barely passed typing class to a girl that has a blog that provides steady extra income is just amazing. Thank for coming to take a look and supporting my creativity.

Diamond Dimensions Hat and Ear Warmer

A Free and Paid Knitting Pattern

I have two new knitting patterns for you today. I wanted to make a similar hat to my Wellsley Hat, but without the extra seaming. This time the texture pattern is a little bit different and the band is kitchener stitched together for a seamless finish. Below I will have the free pattern for the ear warmer and there will be a chance to buy the hat pattern through my Ravelry Store.

While I was working on this pattern I thought it would pair really well with my Diamond Dimensions Neck Warmer, so that is why you might recognize the name. They would be the perfect set to gift together.

This time I used Patons Canadiana Yarn for the ear warmer and hat. This is some of my favorite yarn, I have never been unhappy with it. I wore this hat the other day, and I forgot the hat was even on. This yarn is just so comfortable and soft.

**Can I just say one quick thing about the Wellsley Hat? It's been up on the blog for 2 months and it is already my top 7th pattern on the blog out of almost 7 years of designs. Thanks for all of your love on this pattern.**

Where can I get this Pattern?

This is a free knitting pattern found right here on Designs by Diligence. Just keep scrolling down to read the pattern. If you would like to purchase an ads free, printer friendly PDF you can through my Ravelry Pattern Store for $3.00.

Diamond Dimensions Neck Warmer

A Free Knitting Pattern

The great thing about creativity is that it grows and expands as you learn and exercise it more. Last year when I learned how to make the Left and Right Twist stitch I never realized I would continue to come up with more and more designs that use the stitches. I've been told the best way to grow a business is to build off of what you already know and have done. I don't know if I will ever come to the end of my ideas, but I will just keep putting them out there until there are no more.

The Diamond Dimensions Neck Warmer Uses the Right Twist Stitch, the Left Twist st, Knit st, and Purl Stitch. There are no tricky yarn overs so these patterns make good t.v. watching projects. Once the pattern  establishes itself its easy to follow along and see what needs to happen next. If you purchase the PDF pattern there is a chart that is included with the written instructions.

Where can I get this Pattern?

Swift Swirl Cowl

A knitting Pattern

I have a new pattern to add to the Swift Swirl Series. The last 2 patterns, the Swift Swirl Hat and the Swift Chevron Hat were worked in the round. For this pattern it is worked flat so some of the rules change a little. It is still an easy to follow along pattern and I was able to finish this cowl up in a weekend.

I am pretty sure this is going to be a fall staple in my wardrobe this year.  I'm wearing it right now as I type.

Where can I get this Pattern ?

Baby Helix Hat

A Free Knitting Pattern

I have been playing with Right and Left Twist Stitches again. I really love these stitches. They are so versatile, and they make texture so much easier than remembering to yarn over and decrease when needed. If you don't know the right and left twist I would encourage you to lookup some Youtube videos and watch how they are made.

You can also look at a couple of my patterns that include them. The Swift Swirl Hat is a great introduction to the Right Twist Stitch and it is a free pattern. Its companion pattern The Swift Chevron Hat is a paid pattern that takes the swirl to another level by making a chevron instead with Right and Left Twist.

The Baby helix Hat is an easy pattern to follow.  It is a 5 round repeat, that gives the allusion of twisting cables almost like a double helix. For the yarn I used two different yarns so you could see how it worked up in different options. The blue hat is Lion brand Yarn: Woolease, and the pink hat is Red Heart:With Love Metalic.

Where Can I Get This Pattern?

This is a free knitting pattern that you can read and follow along below. The pattern is made for a baby or a 14 in circumference. There is a lot of stretch in this pattern so it will fit and grow with baby for a long time. My 2 year old even stretched it over her head, but it was a bit to short for her, but that gives you an idea of how much stretch there is.
