Pajama Eaters

Before Christmas a friend of mine asked if I would make some pajama eaters for her boys.

That one request has now turned into a lot more pj eaters.

The pattern for them is found here: http://sewfearless.com/patterns-and-tutorials/the-pajama-eater-pattern/ . They are the cutest things possible. Every time I make a new one I'm amazed at how they develop their own personalities, and you can really personalize them to fit the person you are giving it to. My one complaint would be that she states that you need 1 yard for the main fabric, but really you can get all the cuts made with just a half yard.

"Green" Disinfectant Wipes

Two years ago I decided to go chemical free in the kitchen. Meaning I only use vinegar, baking soda, and dish soap as cleaners in my kitchen. I no longer felt comfortable using chemicals in the same place that I cooked and ate my food. Granted when the job is really bad I have been known to pull out the soft scrub, but for the most part I enjoy being chemical free in the kitchen. For a while, I have been wanting to go chemical free in the bathroom, but lets face it, I like the convenience that disinfectant wipes provide me. I pull a wipe out of the container. I wipe everything down and the wipe goes in the trash. The other day I came to the end of my container and instead of buying a new one I decided to make my own.

I used an old diaper wipe case, 1/2 cup of vinegar, 1/2 cup water, 1 tsp of lemon extract. I poured all of the liquids in the bottom of the wipes container. Then I got an old pair of sheets that ripped and cut some of it up into rectangles the size of the wipes case. (I cut 20 of them) I put the rectangles in the case, and let them soak up the liquid, then I flipped them over so the top layers could soak up. And I was done. When I need to clean something I grab one out, wipe everything done then I toss the wipe in the laundry hamper. When it goes through the wash it helps to absorb odors so it is even multifunctional. When all wipes Have gone through the wash just add more liquid to the wipes case.
