Holt Bag

A Free Crochet Pattern

My great grandma Holt loved a good accessory. She had an extensive collection of rings, handbags and scarves. Oh the joys of being a little girl and getting permission to go in her closet to look at it all. When I was asking my sister what I should name this bag she suggested I name it after Grandma Holt. I'm pretty sure she would have loved this bag and the fact that I even make things for a profit. She herself was a very independent woman, and I am always thankful of the example she made.

This is a fun belt bag, that has a great art-deco look to it. My favorite kinds of bags are bags that are hands free. It is a quick project. I'm able to complete it in under 4 hours, and that is including putting in a liner.

I'm sorry it is late on Posting on the blog. I'm still getting used to this quarantine schedule, as I am sure most of you are too.

I think we are all in need of some freshness and beauty and this cowl brings it all. I chose blue, but I think this cowl would look fabulous with a cream and green or a yellow scheme.

The construction is very simmilar to my other stranded work cowls. It makes it easy and you don't have to worry so much about tension. The design is pretty forgiving; if you miss a wrong color somewhere no one is going to know.

Sweet Pea Diaper Cover

A Free Crochet Pattern

It has been forever since I have designed a baby pattern. It's one of my favorite things to do, so I have no idea why I don't do it more often. My cousin recently had a baby and that got me in the mind to make a few baby things. Also the world is a bit crazy right now so why not do what I love the most.

The pattern below is for the newborn size only, but I have graded the pattern to include sizes up to 12 months. Those sizes are available in the PDF in my shops. This diaper cover is designed to be a high wasted diaper cover.  If you want something a little shorter then you will need to reduce your rows.

This is a quick pattern I was able to complete it in under 4 hours, so if you need something quick this will be a great pattern to use. I won't say that it is beginner friendly but it is pretty close.

This pattern also uses some Tunisian crochet. The stitches are used for the waist and leg bands. You don't need any special hook for the stitches the hook you always use will be great. But I wanted you to be aware that those stitches are in the pattern so you can prepare if you don't know how to make the Tunisian knit of Tunisian purl stitch. Even I you don't know there is a full description of how to make those stitches in the pattern and this would be a great practice piece because there are not very many.
