December 2017 Newsletter

This last month did not go exactly as planned. My Youngest got a bad cold in the middle of the month so that means I also got sick. I'm so thankful to be fully on the mend. I love that I'm able to stay home and snuggle with her on the days that she really needs it.

I have been working behind the scenes a lot getting my Christmas projects done for my family. I only have one main project left then I am done. Last month I really thought I was behind, but I have been knocking them out as fast as I can. There are 20 people that I need to find gifts for (including my daughters) on an extremely limited budget like $250 max. $20 dollars a month goes into our Christmas fund.  It is a fun challenge for me looking for good deals and fun things that my family will like. Quite a few of the things you have seen on the blog go to family as Christmas gifts. I think about them a lot when I am designing.

What Happened Last Month

Even with the off week I added four posts to the blog for November.

This month I did my first sponsored post. Thank you to everyone who took the time to read the review for Paperless Post. It was pretty nerve wracking to do something new on the blog. The other big news was that The Crochet and Knit Christmas tags had 207 unique downloads on Ravelry.

Facebook growth: I gained 15 followers
Pinterest growth: I gained 43 followers
Instagram growth: I think I have lost followers. I'm still very lost on this platform, haha. But I love looking at all the pictures of the people that I follow.

My husband was weirded out that I even said anything about my revenue, so I will leave it at that I was able to pay the internet bill and I am able to send out Christmas cards this year because of Paperless Post.

What is Coming Up on the Blog

This is crochet!

Even though I didn't get to it I still plan on showing you how to use Couching on crochet. I have a Tunisian crochet scarf that I use mitered squares to make. I have been working on a new knit hat but I'm struggling with the decreases to bind it off, so I'm not sure if it will be ready for December. I also have some new dishcloths and a matching basket coming up.

My family and I will be making a trip down to the states to visit family. We are so exited to spend some time with all of our extended family. I've been trying to work ahead to be ready for the January CAL, that way I can spend as much time as I can with my family over the Christmas Break.
